   Summer Outings Available Now
Spring activities are now listed.  Get the cobwebs out from your feet, and hit the trails.  See Activities
   Short Notice Outings
More and better than ever.
Don't let the short days, and wet weather of the fall and winter keep you homebound. Members take advantage of breaks in the weather, matching outings to prevailing conditions. See a sampling of some of the many outings that our members have experienced and enjoyed in just the last few weeks at the NW Trails Blog.
   Ski to Sea Team Rocks!
Individual team members posted excellent race times, but the cancellation of the canoe leg threw the finishing positions out of whack. This year our team was credited with a 227th place finish, (in a field of 435 teams) although we are certain that if our canoeists had been able to get onto the river, we would have placed higher. Club Ski to Sea team fans will be relieved to learn that each of our team members has risen to the challenge and has agreed to return to Battle the Course again in 2009. Next Year!

• XC ski – David Dean returns for his fourth year on the crucial starting leg. We are certain he will get us off to a fast start, as he has the past three years.
• Downhill Snowboard – Keith Knutson returns for his second go at the mountain, looking to best his impressive time from ’07!
• Runner – Brian Kingsberry will lash the pavement of this most brutal leg in his fourth appearance on our team!
• Cyclist – Peter Cutbill joins our team for the first time. Welcome! He’s cycled the course before on other teams, and is a strong addition to our line up.
• Canoe – Beau Woods and Levi Markowski will navigate the Nooksack for the first time in 2008. They’re young, they’re strong…and they have a new canoe! They are determined to put in the best time ever on this leg for the club.
• Mountain Bike – Mike Koepp is back for his third year on our team, and his time gets better each year!
• Kayak – Ed Lutz returns for a third year to battle the waves and the other contestants. Ed is the Team Captain for 2008.

Bay to Baker Trail Gets 93 Trees
Volunteers from the Mount Baker Club and REI planted 93 native trees along the Bay to Baker Trail in Glacier on October 13th and 20th.  The planting parties were part of the REI grant awarded to the Mount Baker Club and the Whatcom Parks and Recreation Foundation.
